Rebecca Gould Baeurle has spent a lifetime helping others chase their missions—now she’s chasing one of her own. After a successful career in the nonprofit world spanning education, healthcare, disability inclusion, and community building, she’s traded grant proposals for plot twists.

Originally from a small town in North Jersey, Rebecca earned a degree in Communications and English from the University of Delaware and never stopped writing. Her voice was forged out of necessity to survive in a family of ferocious talkers, and her storytelling chops were honed over decades of hilarious banter.

Her debut novel, Six Weeks of Love & Larceny, launched

The Secrets Trilogy, a witty, heart-pounding series that tests the limits of trust, the boundaries of love and the bonds of sisterhood in the face of deception and danger. The journey continues in

Twelve Weeks of Love & Loss, followed by Sixteen Weeks of Love & Lies.

Rebecca lives just outside Philadelphia—close enough to cheer loudly for the Eagles—and is known to disappear to the Delaware beaches with a good book and an even better cocktail. She’s been married to her college sweetheart, Mike, for 36 years, has two grown children who still keep her on her toes, and yes—she really does have a sister she adores.

Ask Me Anything…

Most Embarrassing Moment:

Walking home from work with the back of my skirt accidentally tucked into my underwear, unknowingly exposing my ass to the entire neighborhood.

Beach or Mountains?

Beach.

Proudest Moment:

Now.  I have a lasting marriage, happy kids, great friends, endless memories and more to come.

Early Bird or Night Owl?

Night Owl fighting becoming an Early Bird.

First Job:

Bernardsville Cinema – I still know all the words to ‘Workin’ 9 to 5…’

Sunrise or Sunset?

Definitely sunset, it’s uncivilized to have a cocktail at sunrise.

Home Away from Home:

Dewey Beach.

Truth or Dare?

Truth, depending on the dare.

Pet Peeve:

When people paralyze the entire parking lot insisting on backing into a spot.

Coffee or Tea?

Hot coffee, iced tea.

 Guilty Pleasure:

Hallmark movies and the occasional peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Dogs or Cats?

Dogs, but that’s an evolutionary answer – I’ve loved many cats, but it took only one dog for me to switch teams.

Choose One Superpower:

Hmm… my first impulse is to say flying, but being able to become invisible opens up so many more possibilities.

Toilet Paper – Over or Under?

Let’s settle this once and for all… it has to be over – you can’t fold the end into a triangle if it’s under – case closed.

Favorite Fast Food:

Pizza.

Pancakes or Waffles?

Eggs.

Favorite Vacation Spot:

Italy, but I’m not done traveling yet.

Cake or Pie?

Pie, but only if it’s homemade – preferably my grandmother’s recipe.

Favorite Books/Authors:

Kristin Hannah, ‘The Nightingale,’ ‘The Women’

Khaled Hosseini, ‘The Kite Runner,’ ‘A Thousand Splendid Suns’

Stieg Larsson, The Millennim Series

Sara Gruen, ‘Water for Elephants’

I like all kinds of music but my go-to’s are Bruce Springsteen, The Allman Brothers, Chris Stapleton, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Allison Krauss and always some good Motown for a dance party.

As a Jersey-girl growing up in the 80’s there was only one – The Boss.

Onion rings all day.

Favorite Condiment:

Siracha, hands down.

Item in your purse you can’t live without:

Besides my credit card, toothpicks and hand cream.

Favorite Off-Color Word:

The f-bomb. It’s the only one worth using – the others have acceptable substitutes, but I have to admit I feel it’s being overused and losing its effectiveness. Let’s come up with a new one – anyone?

Your Inspiration:

At night, the friendly monster under the bed plays with the voices in my head creating stories that just have to be read.

Hot coffee, iced tea.
